About

Made since 2002.

VISEC is video surveillance software published by Global Technologies, a software company operating since 1994, with offices in the United States and South Africa.

How VISEC started

The company's own offices were burgled. Looking for a surveillance system afterwards, we couldn't find one that was both capable and affordable, so we spent years building one — with the features of a serious security system, engineered to be genuinely easy to use.

What we build

One Windows program that records your cameras, reads number plates, reads QR codes from a camera stream, and drives access control through the inputs and outputs already in your cameras. It runs on hardware you own, stores recordings on your own drive, and costs a one-time price.

Where it runs

From single-camera homes to shopping centres, supermarkets, schools, offices and national roads projects. Several of those deployments are written up in our case studies.

Firsts we are proud of

VISEC engineered the world's first IP-based license plate recognition system, and was the first software anywhere to read and decode QR codes directly from a camera stream — no scanner, no extra hardware. When the South African National Roads Agency needed live video from remote roadside sites over 3G, we were the only company able to deliver it, working with Axis cameras and integrator CSS&I.

Our engineering team spans seven countries, and VISEC is in use on every major continent.
